The iPhone 3G is already quite a sexy device, but like many other electronics, people are already trying to make it even more attractive. A number of individuals have come up with replacement outer shells for the iPhone, but the metallic Apple logo on the back has also received some attention too. In fact, a Russian mobile device site has gotten rid of the metallic logo altogether, and has replaced it with the ubiquitous glowing Apple logo.
Pretty much anyone who has seen an Apple laptop in the past few years should be familiar with the glowing fruit, making the modded iPhone stand out even more. The glowing logo does look pretty cool, though, and certainly adds an air of Apple tradition to the device. According to the site, the process is as simple as removing the metallic logo and replacing it with a glowing version, although it's not clear what the light source is. If you're wondering why Steve Jobs didn't include this in the first place, I suspect the answer is the same old "battery life" that we've heard before, but the modders responsible for the glowing logo have done Steve one better by including a dimmer that can be accessed via the iPhone's settings menu.
