Logo Deadline Changed

Parkersburg is hosting a logo design contest for its Bicentennial- but entrants are being given a little extra time to come up with something extra special.

The deadline for submitting entries to the contest, originally set for next Monday, has been pushed to February 15.

Tracy Hively, secretary to Mayor Bob Newell, said in an interview with WTAP news that the deadline was pushed forward due to the cold weather expected in January.

Hively also said that there has been a small number of enteries submitted so far, but so far they\'ve been good ones.

The winner of the contest will receive $100 for their logo, which should capture the celebration of Parkersburg 200th anniversary.

Judging, Hivley believes, should be completed by March 1.
