The 61st Annual Student Art Competition held its awards ceremony Monday at 7 p.m. in the Ewing Gallery of the Art and Architecture building.
“We had approximately 530 entries this year,” said Brittany Chunn, a senior in anthropology and one of the organizers of the contest. “Each entry cost $5 and had to have been in by last Monday, the only day for submissions.”
Submissions were broken down into three categories: graphic design, fine arts and art history. A different judge, who determined the best work, juried each group.
“Each of the winners was determined by each juror’s taste and whatever they found to be especially motivating or unique,” said Amy Jones, a senior in studio art and another of the event’s coordinator
